HOW TO USE SUSTEE
1. SET
Insert SUStee into the soil at the base of the potted plant, until the “Ω” marking is covered or between “>” and “<“.Ensure that its transpiration opening is always visible if it needs to go deeper.SUStee should sense moisture around the plant’s roots at the bottom of a pot. So it needs to be placed close to the plant itself, within a 20 cm radius.
2. WATER
Remember to water generously when you use SUStee for the first time.Always water your plants thoroughly.SUStee will change its colour from white to blue within 20-30 minutes.The correct amount of water is equal to a fifth to a quarter of whatever volume your pot holds. Try to water evenly.
3. MONITOR
Simple to use: leave the device in the pot to continuously monitor soil humidity and show you when to water your plants.Blue → the soil is adequately hydrated, no additional water required.White → the soil is dry and watering is required.We do not recommend watering if SUStee shows the slightest hint of blue, but to wait until it is completely white.

Suitable for all types of soil and plants
SUStee can be used for almost all plants that grow in soils with a certain level of moisture retention: from bog moss to gardening culture soil, Akadama soil, black earth, bark, coco peat, peat moss and vermiculite.

Replaceable core refills
SUStee’s inner core is made from non-woven cotton and will decompose because of bacteria in the soil. Depending on the kind of soil you will have to replace the inner core within 6-24 months after insertion.
Changing the core is done in two steps. It is easy and can be done by anyone.
First: Pull SUStee from the pot and follow the instructions below. If dirt has accumulated in SUStee clean it before you insert a new core.
Second: Remove the lock cap by turning it counterclockwise. Take out the used inner core and replace with a new one.

How do I take care of SUSTEE?
After long periods of usage SUSTEE might not react as swiftly as it should. This may be due to soil sticking to it. Mix neutral detergent with warm water and place SUSTEE upside down (the window facing downwards) in it and let it soak for about an hour. Whatever is sticking to SUSTEE should come off and dissolve this way.
After cleaning let SUSTEE dry till it shows white. It can be used again after cleaning.
Is SUSTEE affected by water sprayers or rain?
No. SUSTEE registers the amount of water in the soil. If the product gets wet and changes its colour to blue, it will turn white again, as soon as the soil is dry.
Is SUSTEE affected by mineral or organic fertiliser or influenced by pesticides?
If not overused and with low oil content, SUSTEE will not be affected by fertilisers or pesticides.
Which SUStee size to buy: Small-diameter of the pot is less than 10cm (pot sizes 2, 2.5 and 3); Medium- diameter of the pot is between 10cm and 18cm (pot sizes 3.5, 4, 5 and 6); Large- diameter of the pot is more than 18cm (pot sizes larger than 6).
